I am a Grand Valley State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Film/Video and a minor in Political Science. My academic path helped craft my technical and creative skills in digital content production, editing, and coordination, which has led to a career in community engaged Digital Marketing and Communications.

Through both my academic and professional experience, I have found a passion for education, equity, and community empowerment. With this in mind, I am continuing to pursue professional roles within the communities of Grand Rapids, to further my passions, fulfill my civic duties and improve my skills as a storyteller.
I was raised in rural Mid-Michigan but am now located in Grand Rapids, MI.

My Experience
Professional & Education
Enrollment Coordinator at National Heritage Academy
August 2022 - Present
Now a team member on the Enrollment team at NHA, I operate as an Enrollment Coordinator managing a portfolio of 17 schools between 2 states.

Manage communication between 100+ schools, the Enrollment team and various departments in NHA.
Coordinate and author the department’s monthly newsletter.
Organize community-based volunteer activities for the department.
Provide training assistance, develop training digital content and troubleshoot walkthroughs for school Registrars.
Utilize CRM software daily to report customer service cases.
Regularly perform and report data retrieval.
Coordinate paperwork compliance between families and schools.
Provide hands-on technical and software system edits, fixes and amendments.
Travel and assist school office administration in person in our schools
Digital Marketing Intern at National Heritage Academy
April 2022 - August 2022
In my role within the Digital Marketing department I would regularly update and manage ad campaigns in Google AdWords and Meta Business for over 70+ accounts. I also assisted in managing all of our account's social media platforms via Sprout including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Spotify. During my time here I successfully developed advertising & digital platform copywriting to support brand messaging.

Paraprofessional Lead Teacher at River City Scholars Charter Academy
February 2021Â - May 2022
After graduation and during the Pandemic I decided to pivot into community engagement and assistance via a local Grand Rapids elementary in a disenfranchised area. In my role as a Paraprofessional, I lead taught groups in grades 3-5 ELA & math lessons and participated in local community engagement events.

Other responsibilities included:
Provided community equity and empowerment input with administration and staff
Transfer hard data into documented data per state standards
Assist in operating community engagement events throughout the academic year
Support coordination of the arrival and dismissal of students
Track and log caseloads and maintain schedule

Editor at Feel Like You Belong TV
January 2020 - May 2020
While serving in an Editor role I edited full-length episodes of Feel Like You Belong TV. The role included editing and graphically designing educational linguistic segments designed to teach English to EL learners. In addition to the educational segments, the talk show portion of each episode provided I edit and develop a visual storytelling method to tell the stories of immigrants who have recently relocated to the Grand Rapids, MI area. A sample episode I edited below is available via YouTube.

Creating timed onscreen graphics
Creating marketing and presentation graphics for social media accounts
Publishing all content via local television networks and the official YouTube channel of the show
Supervising Editor on "Driftless" - Film (Dir. Harper Philbin)
September 2019- January 2020
Managed and edited the feature-length film from development through picture lock. The process included interfacing with the completed script to coordinate accurate and timely edits. I collaborated with a team of editors and the director daily to creatively improve the final film. Now available on Amazon Prime:
